November, 2009 marks the third anniversary of our book club, henceforth named The Eclectic Literary Society. Since our first meeting in 2006, we have enjoyed a diverse selection of works ranging from biographies, historical accounts, philosophy and literary classics. While few choices have been agreed upon by all, the opportunity to expand our minds through authors previously unconsidered is something with which we can each agree.
In that spirit, I welcome you to the Eclectic Literary Society blog, a place to share thoughts and opinions pre- and post-meeting. All comments and suggestions are encouraged. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteA dark novel and a stark vision of the apocolyptic final days. The paternal love is like a colorful flower growing amidst a dung heap of disaster. It is universal in it's theme, or at least that which pertains to our "known" exisistence. Good read. "The Road" is another of McCarthy's haunting novels.
